Industrial engineer
The Industrial Engineer analyzes, recommends and develops processes for optimizing equipment manufacturing and quality assurance operations. In collaboration with the Manufacturing Manager, he/she sees to the implementation of operational structures while devoting his/her time to the continuous improvement of the productivity, efficiency and profitability of his/her operations. He/she acts as a change agent and participates in occupational health and safety projects. He/she implements measures to control and analyze process performance.
Monday to Friday / Located in Baie-d'Urfé / 37.5 hours per week / Starting at $80,000.00 per year
Responsibilities
- Directs and validates new process studies and makes strategic recommendations, as well as coordinating their implementation;
- Participates in the development of flexible, integrated manufacturing systems, methods and procedures to enable optimal use of machinery, materials and resources;
- Designs and draws up plans for the layout or rearrangement of workshops, workstations and equipment to make the best use of available floor space;
- Manages the activities and schedules of the various projects under its responsibility;
- Researches and negotiates agreements with potential specialized suppliers
- All other related tasks & projects.
Requirements
- University diploma in industrial engineering;
- Minimum 5 years' experience in process design and implementation;
- OIQ member (an asset);
- Knowledge of Autocad or equivalent;
- Technical and practical knowledge of manufacturing processes;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite;
- Good knowledge of English (spoken and written);
- Demonstrates good judgment in decision-making. Good communication skills;
- Possibility of traveling in Canada and the U.S. 2-3 times a year, one week per trip.
