Mechanical design engineer
The Mechanical Design Engineer studies, designs and develops automated recovery equipment for our TOMRA Technologie division. He/she mainly performs tasks related to the evaluation, design, testing and launch of new recovery systems, while providing technical support to the service team in the mechanical field. He supports improvement projects, while providing technical support to the service team.
Monday to Friday / Located in Baie-d'Urfé / 37.5 hours per week / Starting at $85,000.00 per year
Responsibilities
- Research project feasibility, design, operation and performance;
- Plan and direct projects and prepare materials, cost and time estimates, reports and design specifications;
- Ensure system performance and draft technical documentation;
- Collaborate with purchasing to select components;
- Provide technical support to project & installation team members;
- Ensure the continuous improvement of manufactured technologies and the installation process;
- All other related tasks & projects.
Requirements
- University degree in mechanical engineering;
- Minimum 8 years' experience in mechanical engineering, including 5 years in a design position;
- Technical and practical knowledge of automated industrial system design and its mechanical, pneumatic and electronic components;
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) on Autodesk Inventor software or equivalent;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite;
- Good knowledge of English (spoken and written);
- Autonomous, organized, customer service-oriented, able to handle pressure well and diagnose problems;
- Possibility of traveling in Canada and the U.S. 2-3 times a year, one week per trip.
