Electrical engineer
Reporting to the Engineering Supervisor, the Electrical Engineer studies, designs and develops automated recovery equipment for our TOMRA Technologie division. He/she mainly performs tasks related to the evaluation, design, testing and launch of new recovery systems, while providing technical support to the service team in the electrical field. He supports improvement projects, while providing technical support to the service team.
Monday to Friday / Located in Baie-d'Urfé / 37.5 hours per week / Starting at $90,000.00 per year
Responsibilities
- Design, validate and revise electrical drawings and systems architecture;
- Integrate and modify electrical components to improve products;
- Develop technical solutions from prototyping to production, and participate in testing to ensure consistency and communication between system interfaces;
- Understanding markets, technologies and customer needs to guide solutions;
- Plan projects, estimate costs, prepare contract documents and analyze bids, while negotiating with specialized suppliers and following up on technical agreements;
- Provide support for product launches and market releases, and continuously improve products and processes.
Requirements
- University diploma (BAC) in electrical engineering;
- 3 to 5 years as an engineer;
- Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs (OIQ);
- Technical and practical knowledge of automated industrial systems;
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) on Autodesk Inventor software or equivalent and Office 365 suite;
- Knowledge of OnShape software an asset. Good knowledge of SolidWorks or other electrical schematic software;
- Strong analytical skills and commitment to continuous improvement;
- Good troubleshooting skills;
- Fluency in French and English (for international communication);
- Flexible to travel, autonomous, organized and able to handle pressure well;
- Strong problem-solving and customer service skills.
