Buyer

The buyer is responsible for executing activities related to the purchase of goods and services according to established standards. They ensure the efficient and timely supply of goods, respecting internal policies, budgets, and operational requirements. The incumbent manages orders, tracks deliveries and returns, and communicates with multiple suppliers.

Monday to Friday / Hybrid / 37.5 hours per week / Starting salary of $70,000/year depending on experience

Responsibilities

  • Process internal purchase requests and issue purchase orders;
  • Monitor orders with suppliers to guarantee delivery times;
  • Keep the data in the ERP system up to date (prices, deadlines, quantities, suppliers);
  • Manage delivery discrepancies, merchandise returns and non-conformities;
  • Collaborating with production, inventory and logistics teams to meet operational needs;
  • Participate in the search and selection of new suppliers when necessary in collaboration with the procurement team;
  • Supporting the procurement specialist in certain administrative tasks or ad hoc projects.

Requirements

  • College diploma in business management or administration;
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement or purchasing;
  • Skills in negotiation and supplier management;
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment (production processes, raw materials, deadlines);
  • Proficiency in the Office suite, particularly advanced Excel;
  • Good understanding of business processes and ERP systems;
  • Bilingualism (French and English) for internal and external communications;
  • A meticulous, organized person with excellent attention to detail;
  • Ability to manage stress, perform multiple follow-ups in parallel, and coordinate effectively with various stakeholders;
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
